Nuclear power plant medicine

Wednesday, October 11th, 2017

Today we had an appointment with a city of Muri, an interview for new immigrants  Like an old fashioned welcome wagon. She wanted to make sure we had an understanding of some of the rules and regulations. For example , you have to pay a tax on listening to the radio or watching your t.v’s. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have one or if you have many, everyone pays the same. They also asked us what religion we were. (no separation of church and state here) They would collect a tax from you again based on your answer.

She also gave us a coupon to get some nuclear power plant accident medicine. Yikes! Since Zurich has a nuclear power plant ( we are within 50 miles of the plant)  we can get this medicine for free. Okay... thank you?! My first thought is that how will we know when that happens? We don’t speak or read German! Will someone come knocking on our door to nicely tell us to take them? Do people carry them around with them? Yes, I know of the likelihood of this ever happening is extremely rare. At least when I picked up the pills at least the lady gave me instructions in English.

Another gorgeous day for a walk. This was the view from right by our condo. Such clear days.

This just reminded me of the song BaBa Black sheep have you any wool...No bells around their necks.
