Basel, Switzerland (Christmas Market)

Saturday, December 2nd, 2017

We took a little road trip to Basel today, as they advertised the largest Christmas Market in Switzerland. Basel is a city on the Rhine River in northwest Switzerland, close to the country's borders with France and Germany. We were actually in Germany accidently for about 10 minutes as we took a wrong turn on our way there. We went for the Christmas market, we will have to go back when the weather is warmer. It was cold. We did have the famous Christmas Market drink which is a mulled wine served warm. "Gluhwein". It did help warm us up. There were thousands of people walking around. The kids could ride a train, and they had many stations set up where they could make their own pillar candles. That seemed very popular.  Our pictures didn't turn out so great, but it was very pretty.
