Haircuts

We have  postponed getting haircuts until we absolutely had to and we had moved to Lagenthal. We thought if we found a good spot in Gumligen and moved we would have to experiment again. I went first. I searched Yelp and google but no information if English. So I went to the first place I walked to. Looked nice. Very little English spoken there. I made an appointment for the next day. When I went the next day I had the owner cut my hair, he was the only one who seemed willing to take the English speaking Expat. I brought a picture of what I wanted. I didn't want to relive my nightmare China experience. The cut (experience) was fine. Cost of this little haircut? $78.00. Wow! Cut only!

Mark was next. I told him to try somewhere else so we could compare. They had a little more English. Mark also brought a picture, again we have learned so much since China. He even got a massage with his and a piece of chocolate! Cost of his haircut? $52.00  These are our most expensive haircuts ever. We miss you Amberlie for so many reasons!

LeMont Saint Michel Built on an island off the north coast of France, Normandy area.  It has been a monastery since the 8th century.  Much of the structure was in place by the 12th century.  We visited at low tide and people could walk from shore to the island. This was the view of it, from about 2 miles away, in from our car: Below shows the trail we followed to walk out there: On the shore-side of the island, the village buildings have become tourist shops and restaurants, got that seagull in this photo! In the background of the photo below, you can see the 'pilgrims' making a journey from shore, across the bay.  Pretty easy that day.  Many days it is not possible or at least not advised.

Swiss Chocolate Factory, Frey

On Feb17, we went to the Frey chocolate factory visitor center.  It was a very interesting, sort of museum and video tour of the chocolate making process.   The tour concluded with samples of Frey products, and a couple chocolate fountains.

International job opportunity. #2

Monday, October 9th, 2017 Welcome to our Swiss blog. A little history of what has happened prior to this move. Mark was offered a 18 month project opportunity in Europe, obviously we took the opportunity as we are here. This occurred in May. Mark spent most of the summer in France and Switzerland working. Meanwhile the moving process was off to a very slow start. He was waiting for official job approval, a work permit and then our Visa’s. Finally in October we are here. We left Minneapolis on October 7th  (Saturday) and arrived the 8th (Sunday). Our flight was from Minneapolis to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Zurich. From Zurich a train to Bern.  At  the Bern train station we took a cab to the hotel.  We spent our first night in the city of Bern. I got a walking tour from Mark. For dinner we had some awesome pizza and pasta. On Monday, the 9th, we were met by a lady from Packimpex, 3M’s relocation service here in Switzerland. She took us to check into the Departme...
